2001 Mitsubishi Galant (no rust which is rare for my area and only slight body damage to the passenger side front fender) for free (very challenge priced) with a "blown" 2.4L. Don't really know what's wrong with it, haven't had a chance to look really, but i know it's bad, so my choices of course are throw a new motor in it and flip it(but wheres the fun in that?)or try to build myself a challenge car. So first i'd need to do a 5-speed swap (well documented and i can prolly recoup most of the cost by selling the AT) and get a new 2.4L. Then try an build me a autoX car. now i know it's a heavy car and a platform with very little support, but thats kinda why I'm interested. So what do you think? Waste of time? Anyone know anything about mitsubishi building? Any challenge budgeted swaps come to mind? Lemme know.

(I'll update pics once it's light out and i can get some good ones)

Id say its good for flip fodder, but youre right, theyre big and theres not much aftermarket. Id say use the flip money to support a challenge build. Perhaps the Lancer route was a bit short minded. But theres tons of potential out there...there was a 350 swapped Chevette on here earlier, thats a GREAT start, and looks like a ton of fun!

they're not that big. Id guess 3100 lbs for a 2.4/auto car.

Also, i seem to remember.. that the dohc 4g63 turbo manifold will actually bolt to that head and bam, turbo. ...yep,just checked. Also just learned that it has the same rods as a 2g turbo 4g63 already. Thats nice.

I'd need to research all that more, cuz I'm new to forced induction and actually building up a car like that, but I mean if I could work with what I have that's always a nice start, if not then flip it I guess. Just almost a shame to ditch such a rot free car in MI.
