NICE!!!!!!! I love it!
Wooo! Picture of you and your son says it all! There's gonna be a whole bunch more of those moments. Congrats!
Woke up early yesterday and took care of the paperwork at the DMV. Was the second person in line so got outta there quickly.
Just missed getting a really cool license plate randomly. Wish I got XOX 911 or XOX 996!
Then took my daughter to lunch and a movie. Thought this was a sexy shot...
Then I had the race tires mounted and balanced. The size of the rear tires is ridiculous! Today I'm taking it to my dealer so they can tech inspect it for the track event next Saturday. I've ordered brake pads and I'll install them, bleed the brakes and swap over the wheels tires at the same time. Then I need to figure out a way to mount my Traqmate that puts it where I can see it but still easily install/remove it. Maybe a RAM mount?
I’ve had ram mounts on track hold an iPhone in an x grip with a suction cup and a tab site holding an iPad that the arm is bolted to a tab on the roll cage. Never an issue with them being secure on track.
Great choice on the 996tt
Doc!
tried sending a pm about the traqmate but it looks like it was kicked back. Mind shooting me an email? I’d like to ask a few questions about it as I just ordered a used one.
Thanks! My email is user name at yarhoo

Tune with the flash loader and data logger costs around $1300. Supposedly will pump out around 480awhp and over 500 ft lbs at the wheels. So a huge increase in power, to the point where I won't do it if I have to upgrade the clutch at the same time. Too expensive at that point.
Got the car tech inspected at the dealer, also had the rear wing microswitch installed and in a fit of laziness, had them install the clutch slave accumulator. Clutch pedal effort is normal now, woot! Also stopped by a PCA'ers house and picked up a factory 996 roof rack as Thule doesn't make a fit kit for a 996.
Was underneath the car and found this, a decidedly aftermarket looking adjustable rear swaybar and endlink. Hmmm...

I think you need to add $20k to your number ...
we shall see, eh!
When you have a car that's appreciating in value, but you don't really want to sell it, you put it on BaT with a crazy reserve and see who's willing to pay an absurd amount to pry it from you. It's not much different from speculating on anything else. Just a person trying to cash in on the hot market. If they wait awhile longer, the market might continue to rise, and they might get what they want for that car.
BaT usually won’t let you put a crazy reserve on it, they want stuff that will sell as that is where their $ is. From experience they put a lot of pressure on sellers to keep reserves on the low side.

Indeed. I wanted to list my LSx swapped 951 on BaT. They agreed to take the listing but only if I accepted a reserve price that I felt was 50% less than what I'd be willing to take for the car. If I didn't agree to their reserve price, they wouldn't take the listing.
I didn't, so they didn't. I sold the car locally for what I wanted but I do wonder if it would've gotten more in an auction setting like BaT.
