I saw an article on a certain website stating that wagon sales are up over the past 5 years.

I figured everyone here would be happy about this news and celebrate with me by talking about how much we love wagons, and then promptly going out and not buying a new one because none are affordable. Yes!
I love my TSX wagon. It is my 11th station wagon since 1981. No I don't want a Buick.
I have 6 wagons at present.
None of them are newer than 1995, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

VW sold more sportwagens than GTI's last year. Were all of them manual? No, but some of them were and Volvo can't say that. Some of them were even turbo awd, the grm trifecta that no one buys either.

Were any of them brown, awd ,manual and turbo?
If Mazda made a 6 wagon, or the 5 again, I would buy a new one. Instantly. Looking really hard at the new Volvo's because I'm getting tired of waiting...

Loved my TSX wagon but it got totalled last month. Fortunately nobody got hurt but sorry to see it go.
Well that's good news! Shamu will be going down the road soon.
The TSX Wagon came out at the height of Honda/Acura design. They started adding uglier front ends, but they nailed the basic shape.

Yup love my TSX Wagon (bought new, has 118k miles), just wish I had a better exterior color. I don't foresee selling it, and want to keep it till 350K miles at least.
My TSX Wagon's excellent quality makes my Mazda5 seem like its build by a 2 year old in VIetnam.
I think my 4Runner is technically a wagon... At least that's what its title said in CA.
My daughter is about to turn her Traverse in for a Buick X Tour. That is if they can make the lease work for her, I give it about a 90% chance.
I have wet dreams about a fictitious new Accord hybrid wagon, not the hideous cross tour thing.

Bought my TSX wagon new. Only had 51k on it when totalled last month. Other than the front I think they look great from side and rear. When I bought it my other car was an s2k and now have 911 and I never felt like like I was punished when I drove it. Not a lot of power but lots of fun.
This just turned 15 years old. It's been in my fleet since 2009, took the family on a thousand mile road trip last week.
I also just bought a Mazda five for my wife. I can't buy new cars, but I'm hanging on to my Ralliart wagon as long I can.

Lots of us tsx wagon owners also have s2k like you :)
rear view is best, of tsx wagon
That makes me happy, they will never make a new wagon I want but I'm always happy when something other then a giant SUV is being sold. I'll keep my old wagon

They make a 6 wagon, and it's absolute sex, but unfortunately we don't get it here.
Maybe this bit of news changes Mazda's mind.
I'm a serious long roof fan too. Bought nothing but wagons...and a hatch or two...for the longest time. However, in my recent search there just wasn't a wagon that fit the types of things I was looking for. That's mostly because the options are incredibly few.
For the hundredth time, I will say... Dodge, I'm looking at you. Remember the Magnum of the '00s? C'mon, how hard could it be? Leave everything else the same as the current Charger. Same engine options, ranging from mild V6 to insanely wild Hemi. Just throw a long roof on it.

Ohh, I like that. Too bad that Volvo has gotten so expensive over the years.

Except the only Dodge that sold slower than the Magnum was the Viper

Love me some wagons. We need bigger ones though. Roadmaster sized!
In reply to HFmaxi :
Hey now...I bought one new :) I only didn't get a brown onw to have the ultimate combo.
The resale value on the TSX wagons shows their popularity. Hard to find and not cheap when you do I couldn't source one for our garage.
I've tried to like Volvos. Just can't. And I'm not sure what it is about them I don't like.
Subarus, BTDT. The awd tax on them and looming head gasket replacement were a deterrent.
I bought a clone to this several months ago. The interior reeks of cost cutting but with the bulletproof 2.5 it should run practically forever--which is not something I'd say about most VWs anymore.
Horrific resale means I could pick up a 100k mile example for half the price of a Outback with way more miles. I do like the new ones much better but we don't buy new cars. Here's hoping a lot of other folks do so I can upgrade in five years.
The SUV market has not only killed wagons but passenger cars as a whole. Having done six years with a compact SUV the wife and I both agreed a wagon is way more fun to drive while retaining all of the utility. Only downside is I have to jack up the VW to change the oil. I can live with that.
