I dunno... I appreciate things like that because it lets designers just do what they do best, create designs without contstraint of reality. Then you see if you can wrangle that design language onto a production car, and maybe end up with something that actually looks fresh and new.

It reminds me of the 5 bladed schick wonder razor

I think you're on to something there, though I stub my sensibilities on the notion that so much emphasis is on that aspect, rather than new ideas being formed by taking step back and having a fresh look at the constraints of reality and how to address them...

That is the part that I still dont understand. It has potentila like in the wet but get a rock stuck in there and things go wrong in a hurry
I saw my first XTS two days ago, running around Oshawa with dealer plates. You can definitely see the design evolution from the Sixteen to the XTS, especially in that front corner view. I dunno about the... atomic roller-skate thing, but good designers, and good design studios, are supposed to be able to shock us from time to time.
Frankly, Cadillac has been slumming it for far too long to still be considered a true premium car. They're just another tarted up Chevrolet nowadays.
1930 prices:
Chevrolet AD coupe: $495 - $685
Cadillac V-16: $5350 - $9700 depending on bodystyle and coachbuilder.
Now prices:
Tahoe: $39750
Escalade: $64195
They're not really competing in the league they used to compete in.
GM should get themselves a true halo brand. Go after some real rockstar cash the way Bugatti and others have been.
Start turning some of those fantastic looking concept cars of theirs into reality.

The picture that accompanies the original post...looks like a cross between a giant snow shovel and a collosal toaster, with the wheels from a turn of the 18th to 19th century farm implement thrown under it.
At least Cadillac hasn't done anything (overty) retro...yet. All we need (NOT) is a modern "update" of a '59 Cadillac, complete with huge vertical fins and bullet shaped taillights.
The OP's show car has potential. Yes the bike tires may not work out so well. Imagine having to buy a set of 24 tires. Do they all get mounted and balanced individually? Imagine taking that thing down to the local advance-pep-auto-reily's-zone and asking for a new set. Lol.
I think the thin waist area looks a little waspish. The flying insect wasp, not the people or the ship.
It is over the top, but other than the wheels and tires is it that much different than the Mazda Furai in terms of being a bit out there?
This caddy will show up in a movie at some point in the near future. That's my guess.
