There are plenty of high quality suspensions available for the FC.

I'd much rather run Racing beat springs (they only drop 1/2 inch) and Bilstein HD shocks than cheap coil overs. Get (or make) some camber plates, put on 225 series tires and go crazy.

No need for engine management. Use the stock camaro PCM and tune it with HP tuners. Ditch that LS6 cam, it's worthless. Get at least an LS6 intake manifold and add a decent cam and you should be around 375rwhp.

I concur with Brett on suspension. I would have recommended Konis but they have discontinued their Sport struts for the FC and new ones are hard to find. I have KYB adjustable struts on my TII and I am not impressed with them.

The FC has a passive rear steer system. Basically, they are squishy bushings that allow for toe-in during hard cornering. You should get rear steer eliminator inserts and have them pressed in, this will make handling much more predictable at the limits.

Steering rack ratios for the FC can be found here: http://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/how-de-power-your-steering-rack-right-way-440198/

It's easy to make ~400rwhp on these motors with basic bolts ons. Much more than that starts to cost some money. Get the T56, it's totally worth it vs the auto tranny. A good set of headers and exhaust, along with a good cam and you'll be bumping that 400rwhp mark...

Jeremy Formato in Florida is a great tuner for F-bodies. Find him on LS1tech. Great guy, came to my house and spent hours tuning my trans am to get it properly sorted for a decent price. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while since I've been tinkering with F-bodies or LS motors; but, you might need a different PCM for the T56 as well.

I want to follow this thread because I'm interested in an FC with an LS variant as well. Are the motor mounts custom or pre-fabbed? If the latter what brand?

I can have the pcm flashed but ideally, I would just try to snatch one off of craigslist when I pick up the T-56 and sell my whole tranny/pcm setup.

All the mounts are from granny's speedshop.

Awesome thanks! I had the G5X3 from LG Motorsports I believe. With Kooks headers, SLP intake, comp 921 springs, hardened 7.4 pushrods, and Jeremy's tune it put 395 to the wheels. Other upgrades were blueprinted ls6 oil pump, ls2 timing chain, Katech rod bolts. The cam was kind of like vtec, nothing on the low end and butt puckering from 3500 to red line.

Keep the ls6 ca. It will make good power, and have it all around, plus it will be easy on the valve train which most aftermarket lsx cams can't say. Also it's free.

If you're gonna dd this, don't worry about the power, you'll have plenty, get the rest of the car sorted. Fix everything, make the interior and suspension nice and do any bodywork that needs to be done. It will be a much nicer place to be everyday.
