I'm kind of a particular bastard and I need some fuel hose for my Honda motorcycle project. Now, before anyone says to go to the local parts store, read on...
I want the original braided looking rubber fuel hose. I do believe I need 6mm size. The bike currently has generic 1/4 fuel hose on it, so I figure Honda spec must have been 6mm or so.
Who has experience with ordering this stuff from anyplace ? Ethanol resistant would be nice too. I tend to buy things like this in bulk rolls so some specialty motorcycle place raping me by the foot price wouldn't be ideal either.

Like this? Or did it have any particular colors or anything braided into it?

It does look like that, but it's just plain rubber without any steel layers. If you've ever done any old German cars, this stuff looks exactly like the fuel hoses my old air cooled VWs had on them.
I just need to buy a 25 foot roll or whatever bulk it comes in or I'd seek out some place like a VW specialty shop. I may be forced to do so and just buy a limited amount for price control.
How much do you need? I may have something at the shop from old British restorations. Can you post a pic of what you're looking for?

I think I may have stumbled upon my answer after all. I was giving myself a bum steer looking for it as 6mm hose. Honda calls it 5.5 mm fuel hose. Once I went down that rabbit hole I found it available in bulk rolls.
Thank you everyone for your help !

I just bought something similar from FCP euro (by the meter). I get it Saturday. I will post a good picture when it shows up.

The hose I got is 3.5mm ID for fixing evap and vacuum lines (rated for fuel and cvacuum), though they also have a 5.0mm. I tried to check some other options, but I only found 3.5 ID, 5.0, 7.0, and larger. 5.0 may be fine, if you don't want to buy a lot, but it is not the official 5.5mm.
Pics for showing general quality (made by Continental). End photo is blurry; I could not get my camera to not auto focus.

Thank you for posting those pictures. I'm a big fan of Continental products.
Have you checked with the local Honda dealer?
