Like the title says - I'm looking for a cheap source for sleeves/nuts that will seat a 60mm ID race spring to modify for my application. Everything I find either wants to include springs or costs $75 a piece with all sorts of hardware I'm not interested in.
If I could buy 4' of threaded sleeve and a bag of the nuts... I'd be fine as I need to modify them for my application anyway so cutting them to length is preferable to buying a pile of them that have to be cut anyway. Otherwise... just a bunch of sleeves and 2 nuts each will get me rolling.
Sounds like its time to fire up the lathe...
Or get a machine shop to make them for you.
I have no idea where you would find something like that. I assume it's too specific of an application to find the "intermediate" step. I'm definitely interested to see what you learn, though.
My google-fu is clearly broken. Someone has to sell just sleeves and nuts - I used to see them on ebay all the time when I was looking for something else.
I've never made an internal thread on a lathe but I suppose I could buy 2 sizes of aluminum tube and give it a try if I can't DIY or afford a shop.
60mm is right between 2.25 and 2.5". I'm guessing that if you find a cheap ebay set of coil over sleeves and perches for 2.25" you could use those. Or call Ground Control, they have sleeves that size.
