Hello everybody! So I just recently relocated to Charleston, SC. I thought surely to goodness there would be tons of stuff out here as far as Motorsport, but I can’t find anything. There is one place that’s about an hour north that hosts rallycross, but I’m not sure I wanna go that route. Anyhoo, is there anyone in the area that knows of any local autocross or drifting?
If not, anyone is the area that has a beater rallycross car for sale lol. Thanks!
The Sand Blast rally is in SC. Not terribly far from you. Charleston has a decent LeMons community because there are two races near Columbia.
Try searching on MotorsportsReg.com. Many clubs use this to register. Looks like South Carolina Region SCCA has an autocross in North Charleston on July 14.
www.scsportscar.com is the local SCCA group.
The next autocross is at the North Charleston Colosseum in the next week or so. Kind of a small lot, but usually a pretty fun event with a surprisingly large crowd. Most events are held in Myrtle Beach at the old Freestyle Music Park. It is by far the best lot we have.
SCCA Rallycrosses are held at Midway Motorsports Park in Greeleyville every month or so.
The local road course is either Roebling Road http://www.roeblingroad.com/ in Savannah, GA or Carolina Motorsports Park https://www.carolinamotorsportspark.com/ in Kershaw. Both around 2 hours drive away.
If you make it to North Charleston, look me up, I'll be the fat guy driving this.

You’re not lying! This place is a lot more crowded/busier than we thought it’d be. But we love it so far. Got us a house up in Moncks Corner. It’s nice up here, but rumor has it, it’s the next place to start growing.

Nice! I’m currently shopping for my next car right now. I sold my Miata before moving out here, I just didn’t have the means to bring it with me. Looks like they do rallycross somewhere near here. That may be something Fun to get into.
Any of you guys going to do the CMP event with TCUSA/Shelby Club Sept 22?
