Um.....

Probably a couple reasons:

My scan tool reads what the vehicle gives I guess.  If the wife's Infiniti is programmed Metric, I imagine that's why I see Metric.

I think TunerStudio's default is Fahrenheit, and every thermostat I've bought here come in Fahrenheit, and I probably just didn't bother changing the settings.

Also in Canada, we tend to use both all over the place.  I talk in pounds but not kilograms, kilometers but not miles, feet and inches as well as millimeters and centimeters, meters but not yards.... I also do Imperial MPG, not US MPG, and struggle with L/100km.  I can tell you my height in feet and inches, but not centimeters.  I can tell you my weight in pounds, but not kilograms. I cook entirely in cups and spoons.

Also, I grew up in the 70's as Canada was changing to Metric, and consequently didn't learn either system well, but I can kind flip back and forth.

I once had a NASTY comment on one of my Super 7 videos, that HOW DARE I show a video doing 120mph on public roads!!!  Dude - that was 120km/h.  About 75mph.   Because Canada.

In reply to SkinnyG (Forum Supporter) :

I am amused that someone thought a total aerodynamic brake of a car like a Super 7 could do 120mph, at all.

OTOH people ar stupid about speed.  Was watching some insomnia-fueled Group B coverage on YouTube.  In a short span, I saw someone mention that the top speed of an 037 was 109mph, that Group B cars hit 140mp on short straights, and a Peugeot driver marveling that he managed to get his 205 GTi Evo (probably the fastest rally car ever) up to 207kmh on the fastest stage of the fastest rally (Ohninpohja, Finland).

I think people exaggerate converting metric to english like people convert whp to crank hp.

Yes, the 7 has the aerodynamic properties of a Russian Textile Factory.  I have an 8 gallon gas tank; if I take the Coquihalla to Vancouver (4hours, 120km/h speed limit), I cannot make it on a tank.  If I take the Hope-Princeton (5+ hours, 90-to-100km/h) I -can- make it.

So, wait a minute, is your 8 gallon tank 36L or 30L?

And, as a Canadian who grew up in the 70's, I completely agree with your flowchart! But it wasn't our fault that we were so mixed up. Good luck trying to find a metric pool thermometer, bathroom scales, or oven, especially in the 70's in Canada.

I remember my pops putting stickers on the speedometer so it could read KM/H.

8 'Murican Gallons, as I bought it from 'Murica.
