I was cruising for information on Chevy L33 motors when I stumbled across a build evidently going on that is, sort of, a homebrew Ariel Atom with a Chevy V8 (the aforementioned L33).

A quick search here didn't yield any posts on this yet, so here goes. Anyone familiar with this project? Any thoughts?

Here is an engine thread he created on LS1tech.com as well:

No, but I love this quote from the page:

"More akin to riding something wild, overpowered, and foaming at the mouth than just driving a car. It roars, it screams, it snarls. It thrums with power lurking just under its thin skin, daring you to mash that accelerator to the floor, and chase down something exotic."

Drop a 500HP LSx into that and see what happens.

Chassis seems a bit over complicated for the purpose of looking cool.

It looks like a stiffer-chassis, IRS-equipped Stalker. A neat project to be sure, but if I were to build such a vehicle, I don't think that I'd make such a splash of it. Don't need the pressure.

Neat looking project, although in some ways it looks like a Solidworks resume...

Since he's using C4 suspension and overall dimensions, wouldn't it have been easier to just take the C4 frame, ditch the body and build an exo-skeleton on top of it?

I am not sure I understand the fascination with the Atom "No windshield, no bodywork thing" It seems like it would really limit the cars usefulness.

Perhaps it is me being located in the PNW but a sunny day only track toy seems less than ideal.
