The show "Car Warriors" on Speed has two teams building two identical 1992 Mustang five-liters. The graphic on the screen reads "FOX BODY INTRODUCED IN 1987". How does this stuff get on t.v.? Does no one edit this stuff?
Am I crazy (or wrong)? I always thought it was '79. It's not just Speed either, it's all over the place (don't get me started on the health food store employees)
Don't worry you won't have to worry about things like that on Speed much longer.

That sounds like a pre-funeral kind of statement...
My peeve starts at not having SPEED on my cut rate cable plan.

Nothing y'all have been talking about (on these boards) from SPEED has piqued my interest enough to do such seeking.
Your move Thompson.

'87 was move away from the 4 square headlights.
But, yes, I'm surpised that YOU are surprised that the typical TV show gets very few things correct.

yes, the Fox body Mustangs and Capris came out in 79, based on the Fairmont chassis (forget the designation, and too lazy for teh googles) that came out in 78..
they made a lot of drastic changes to the Mustang in 87 to stretch out it's lifespan after the public told them in no uncertain terms that the fwd Probe was never going to be the new Mustang.... plastic headlights, dorky overdone ricer wanna be ground effects, dash layout that was obviously designed by a kindergarten class at a school for special needs blind kids... but at least they got all the important stuff right- engine (fuel injected 5.0), trans (WC T5), rear end (8.8), and suspension (quad shock rear suspension setup).. but they still had 4 lug fugly wheels..

Ahhh memories! A very good friend of mine built a pretty quick '85 Capri (bubble hatch) way back in the mid-90's. he also owned a '79 4cyl Mustang in high school. "Acquaintances" soon after the semi-overhaul in '87 were "dealing" parts from the new Mustangs to make the '79-'86 Mustangs look like newer models.
Anyway, I just don't get how not ONE PERSON sees these things. It's not some obscure fact. It's one of the most popular cars in the last couple decades with car-guys

I was meaning searching something else interesting car related out on the Internet. Not had any interest in anything on Speed in a decade.

Um, what? The quadrabind is berkleying terrible. It's only good point is that it's so bad and so common there's a ton of aftermarket parts that swap straight (and not so straight) in.
