Big fan of the concept, though. Even Wide World of Sports should have a place out there. Who didn't enjoy cliff diving?
There were so many weird "Sports" on that show , I wonder who owns the rights and if they saved the tapes ?
Also Ascot figure 8 racing .......
I remember watching some form of gymkhana way back in the 80s. Seemed like a bunch of heavily modified British cars sliding through cones, reversing into and out of stop boxes and all kinds of craziness.
Autotest.
I remember seeing some show where they were doing that with a spec car that looked like a Mini and a pallet jack interbred.
One of my favorites on WWoS.

The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat.

Cool stuff. I grew up a block away from the fire department in neighboring West Hempstead. I always wanted to take one of these in.
For the love of God, please don't let Ralph Shaheen host rally coverage again.
Bring back Trans-Am, Victory by Design, some replays of previous LeMans, Rolex, etc.
American Sports Cavalcade was actually on TNN, also did anyone else notice the bull riding in the opening graphic? I never saw them show bull riding though :(
Also bring back Wind Tunnel!!! In the later years that was my favorite show!
Wait, television's still A Thing?!

Dave Despain is retired, near as I can tell. I follow him on FB. But yes, Wind Tunnel was great.
They could just endlessly repeat BTCC from the 1990s and I'd watch it.

I religiously watched Wind Tunnel.
Suzuki superbikes, Real-time ITRs, Wind Tunnel..... so many things I loved watching . Their programming was like the YouTube recommended algorithm before that was a thing. They had stuff on there that I liked but didn't know I liked. Random dirt track oval stuff at 10 pm? Sure! I hope it's great.
New Integras, new manual Supras and twin turbo Zs and now Speedvision. We are tying up loose ends before going into the full electric silent era.
I would be excited to have wind tunnel come back. Always liked Dave Despain. (Sp?).
Wonder if they would start covering LeMons, Champ Car, AER and WRL. Some really amatuer racing with some silly cars would be awesome. Give the little guys some coverage where its accessible to others.

+1
Here's to hoping!
They have a deep archive and it would be criminal negligence on their part if they do not dig into it for airtime.
Read the article they don't mention broadcast racing at all. All they mention is your typical car shows that you would fine before on speed or now on motor trend etc. Perhaps they might have live section for races events etc like motor trend on demand has.

I grew up in Bay Shore and my godfather lived around the corner from the Islip facility. I had friends who competed in the Jr. Fireman classes with carts.

We lived in Bayshore in the late 60s. There were still.dear in the woods and you could hear the local stock car races.

Yes to that.
I also grew up on Long Island and never saw an actual competition. I think we once saw one of those rigs, though, while stopping by my dad's office. I remember seeing something that, in my young mind, said "fire truck drag racer."
