Mine, which admittedly is pretty significant, goes right back into childcare...
Mine will go into finishing touches on the truck and then hopefully the rest can be left alone as a fallback for the challenge.
Nope. I'm going to be a square and make a financially sound decision for once (well, twice) and pay off my credit card the same year I paid off my new S2000.
That, and I don't have a job right now

You're going to buy that PT Cruiser, aren't you?
I'm going to pay tuition for the kids. And then reduce my withholding.
If you're getting any more than a couple hundred bucks on your return, someone seriously needs to explain to you why making annual interest free loans to the government is not a wise investment.
I am going to put mine towards the ridiculously high Will County, Illinois Property taxes.
After I buy the family ribs and BBQ Chicken from The Patio Restaurant.

I admit, I am still pretty actively hunting. No surprise, I know. But the added gigantic chunk of tax refund on top of what I have been looking to spend... If I die in a giant fireball of exploding car, my 401k isn't going to help me, is it? ;)

paying down the credit card... thank you... can't afford anymore toys for the time being

Not the drop top. I decided against that. A regular wagon, being 2 years newer, 20k fewer miles $1k less, and more practicable.
Wifey told me that our next car should be a BRZ... I'm contemplating, seriously, trading in the Mazda3 on one...
Probably shouldn't...
There is a particularly minty black 2002 MR-S at the local Chevy stealership that I've had my eye on... They want 8900 for it...
No cars here either, but I am hoping to salvage enough for a front sway bar and adjustable endlinks for the Miata. If I can finally beat my E stock nemesis this year, it'll be almost as good as having a new car.
I'll take the 510 out of any on the list, no questions asked. Sure the Sunfire....er, I mean GTO...has an LS1, but the rest of the car is pretty forgettable. Maybe buy a wrecked one with your tax return and put the motor in something better?

The droptops have very little room in the cargo area as well. I actually have been pleasantly surprised at the handling traits. I hope you find something nice.
My NC Miata came just before tax returns, so it doesn't quite count.
Now the Flyin Miata suspension and TR Motorsport wheels... Supposed that counts...
$649 won't buy me a car, much less one of the ones mentioned.
Bike parts (MTB) and redoing my wheels, new rubber.

Ask Oysterhaut, he keeps trying to sell me his FIAT thing he has.

One of the ones mentioned, true. Won't buy you a car? Totally-otally false!

Moving onto a boat.. not the boat I posted, obviously, it is only 19 feet long. But it was designed by the guy who built the boat I want.. so sailing that for a year or two to get the hang of a full keeled sailboat should allow me to hop up to a larger 37 with some ease.
My plans are 8 months of the year in NJ working.. and all winter in the keys, bahamas or somewhere in the caribbean
In reply to mad_machine: What is the condition of aforementioned 124? From your last update in 2009 it would appear to be a solid car if one were inclined to acquire such a thing... and just over yonder in NJ too. Hrmmm.

No, YOU keep trying to buy it!
It will be for sale in the spring, though.

At the moment.. A solid shell. I managed to find a single rust spot on the floor. I need to finish the saab though, before I can pull it out of the garage.

So this is not a near-runner that needs paint and some love to be a weekend runabout for the Mrs?
My first thought... a tax refund is not free money, it's most likely your money that was deducted from your paycheck throughout the year. If you get a refund you should change your withholdings so you can have more money each paycheck.
not by a long shot.. other cars have gotten in the way. It is one of the reasons I am getting rid of it. It needs to go to a loving home where somebody can rebuild it properly. A survivor like this deserves a LOT better than crushing. So come spring, when I finally get the saab up and running. It will drag it out and put it up on Mira, here, and a couple other sites
