I had to go to Greenville, SC and then Chattanooga, TN and then Atlanta and then back to Greenville and then home to Florida this week. This was about a 2000 mile trip. I drove up and back in our long term JCW Mini Cooper. Honestly, that is the first time I spent in the car. Pretty fast, nice handling and economical road trip car.

I was pretty impressed, until I got into the M2 that I borrowed from BMW when I got up there. I seriously want one of these cars. I have owned or at least spent time in every BMW M car, including the M1 and this is my favorite so far. Comfort on long trips of a 6 Series... performance that will just shatter the original M3... and handling... the Tail of the Dragon is like a straight interstate in this baby. I don't rave about new cars much, but once these are in the used car market, I will be having an M2! Full story soon in GRM, and yes, we spent time comparison testing the M2 against the M 235i and M4 at BMW's test track.

Some people claim that the seat in the M2 is not centred on the pedals, and is actually canted towards the centre of the car. I haven't been in one yet. Any observations to share?
