I need some help coming up with ideas with to outlike and write up a proposeal for sponsers. The reason is my brother and neice and meybe a couisen and myseld are looking to put together a team for next summer to run three local demo derbys around us.
Before we start to ask for money or anything in the write I am looking to start with a brief bio of the team members. Then listing things to offer sponsers that we are willing to do, idleeas incude showing cars at local cruise nights and cars shows early in the summer. Provide a build tread on both facebook and youtube as we do things and as we build the cars, attand any other events that sponsers wish us to attand along with showing the car in front of each place for a day or so. After events giving copys of team photos and video of the cars racing.
A couple of other ideas are press release to the papers and meybe offer a ride along to a tv camera for news team for something different.
Then breaking down sponser packages for cost for which car and which body panel each group would get. Trying to get ideas of costs to offer if people have ideas to offer I am coming up blank right now.
Mock up some photos of your car with the potential sponsor's logo on it to help them visualize it.
I know guys have ideas so any onecwilling to help me writevthis up would be very cool. The other idea forvdoing this is to see if the magazine might be willing to post the write and what went into doing it to the website to help other people cause right now I have no idea how to do this. Willing to reach out and ask for help.
Thank you everyone for any ideas to help form this and get it going to help us start talking to buniesses this winter so we can get started on finding cars to get built and ready for the up coming car show season to talk to people to get extra support behind us.
Thank you again everyone for reading this tread.
I assume you are posting from your smartphone, and I'm not trying to be rude, but if you are going to write sponsor proposals, I would suggest finding a friend or team member who is good with writing, spelling, and grammar. And if nobody on your team fits that description, go to your local library and ask the librarian to proofread whatever you write.
Second: I find that sponsors are more forthcoming once you've actually DONE something (like built the car, entered some events, etc). Most companies aren't going to shell out money to you before you actually have a car to show them or some event results. Unless you personally know these sponsors and they trust you implicitly, they're not just going to take your word for it that you "will" do something if they give you money. You either need to have a track record of previous success, or you need to personally know them already, or you need to have an actionable plan as to how you putting their logos on your demo derby car is going to help their business.
I'm not familiar with the demo derby "scene" though, so YMMV.
Spell check, nothing is more importanter than spell check
I thought you just put giant Monster logos on your car/clothing/person and they just shower you with free product and money right? That's my plan anyway.
Is there ever any sponsors for demo derby? I've never seen one. Maybe a local junkyard or something. I'll be honest, I don't think I would be overly thrilled as a sponsor to have my logo/info potentially crunched on purpose.
I think it's a tough sell. But it would help if the car is done and you have some information on who typically attends the events.

There's ALWAYS sponsors for demo derby.
Usually wrecking yards, parts supplies, tattoo parlors, and construction companies.

First, I would recommend proof reading and editing before posting. Second, check out Larsen's Biscuits and Peniston Oil for sponsorship opportunities.
in all seriousness, you have to develop a plan to take the action, coverage and self produced media away from the track in a matter or fashion that allows you to track views (and demographic information of the viewer) to show perspective sponsors views per a dollar and show them how you reach their target market.
Does the facility and series allow for in car cameras? what about externally mounted cameras on cars? Quad rotors?
I have little interest in going to watch a demo derby in person nor to watch in car footage, but if their was overhead quad rotor footage of an event I'd be intrigued and likely to click. If you can interview 2-3 other drivers from the event before of after the fact and use audio cut ins from the interview.
It's easier to provide value in exposure and sponsorship of a series then it is for a driver or car, if you can bring the value and exposure of the series to a sponsor in your name, then you provide the value without it being based on your individual results, thus you can use the promotion to fund your racing without it being dependent on your placement.
Thanks guys for sound advise.
I have some advice, and this is coming from a guy who just received a sponsorship proposal.
Do I want to sponsor your car? No.
So here's a path to take: Show me how getting involved with your racing effort can solve a problem that I face.
Can you make me an insider in your sport?
Can you help me get new customers?
Can you help me keep my employees happy?
Can you introduce me to new sales outlets?
Can you help me test my products in a harsh environment?
Can you get me involved in motorsports?
Can you introduce me to new suppliers?
Can you help me retain the customers that I already have?
I'm not saying that you have to do all of those, but find a way that we can solve my problems and now we're talking.
Thanks dave, really have fingure this out more. In the past we could get some basic sponsores with just one car, thiscyear really looking to step up the game and really build a strong team if we can.
