I've been wondering about this for months. Someone in my neighborhood has a big red van, all jacked up with "Adventure 4x4" on the side in small letters. The design lines say Ford, but it really is mean looking. I did a little googleing, and came across this site. This is what this guy has, I even drove next to him for awhile on my way to work. I thought maybe we would have bonded over the mutual appreciation for excessive candlepower in forward illuminationr esulting in a wave of mutual acknolwedgment, but no such event took place.

Not really grassroots but its still pretty cool. Anyone seen one of these before?

google "quigley". They make 4x4 vans, and have made some pretty interesting ones.

http://www.quigley4x4.com/ I'll save you the effort.

They even have a "grassroots" event listed in their events section. We see this quite a bit in ski country....apparently they are the perfect ski bum rig.

I've seen a few (friends of friends of friends have them). Neat concept, seem to be quality, and the company has been around for a while. But, it's a small niche - for similar money, you can get a larger RV with a proper toilet, etc. You really have to need a small (by RV standards) AWD RV for them to make sense.
