Kinda off topic, but I like your car. I should have held off for a turbo. Is the maint on the R the standard stuff( pcv, timing belt, etc )?

Agreed on colour, but I like the rumbly sound better. :)

This is a pretty good deal:

http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/inview/detail.jsp?dealer_id=65965377&dealership_view_name=www.minnowmotors.com&ct=u&car_id=321023737

I drove one of these. I liked it, but the dealer I was at wanted an extra 10Gs for a Black '07 with half the miles. Compared to a Volvo R/Audi S it's nothing special on the spec sheet, but BMWness can't really be found on a spec sheet.

Since we're posting pics, thought I would add one. Crappy shot I took in a parking lot.

I have since lusted over these vehicles. I still think it's pretty much perfect but finding one that hasn't been driven into the ground is an effort in futility. I also don't want it to be too heavily modified maybe just some little things to help the drivability but NOT AFFECT RELIABILITY. Suggestions anyone???
I have an 02 WRX wagon completely stock, never modified except for a new cd player and tinted windows. It is a 5 speed and is blue. It is in very good condition and has the factory 17" BBS wheels. It also has painted side skirts which I was told was a rare option. 112k miles on it, never raced, never attempted a 4 wheel burnout or anything dumb like that. All maintenance is up to date. I have been toying with the idea of selling it... If your seriously looking let me know. I might be willing to part with it. EDIT: Are you in South Africa? This might not work

I've never ever seen a WRX that came from the factory with painted skirts. I've seen a few that have been painted by owners and it looks really nice. If yours are really factory, it's just about the most rare option I've ever heard of for the car.

Don't you have to pull nearly the entire front clip off to do the timing belt and turbo changes? Just curious as i really like the styling of the Audi S4 sedan and wagon, but the ridiculous amount of work to perform some of the services is what keeps me away. It's too bad because it seems that the S4 and S6 can be purchased for relatively cheap (probably because of the cost of a timing belt change).

I'll add in the Volvo 850 T5-R. I've always liked those, especially the yellow versions.

So much awesome in one thread. The S4 Avant and 850 T5-R are both on my all time favorite cars lists.

BMW love

A bit sporty if you find one with a five speed and they get high twenties for fuel economy.

A 2.7tt S4 sounds fun, but fuel mileage has never been an Audi selling point. My '98 A4 2.8 would barely eek out 25 mpg with me driving it like a grandma. Low 20's or less driven normally. Even the 1.8t versions struggled to get 30.

They are gorgeous and nice driving cars, tho...

Pulling the front end off for TB change wouldn't bother me, but from MINIs and my TDi I'm used to that sort of thing.

To be honest I really don't know if it came that way or the if the previous owner did it. I kind of doubt he did because he didn't seem like an enthusiast. College professor in his 50's. Sold it because he got a Prius. Maybe I'll look for the window sticker and see what it says. FWIW this is an early '02. The sticker on the door jamb says it was built in October of '01. It's got other odd or rare things like the radio antenna being on the roof and it has the narrow seats that were later widened for fat Americans.

I absolutely love my 850 Turbo wagon.

After less than a week of owning it, a reflashed ECU from ARD went in.

14lbs of boost, reworked fuel and timing make this thing a monster.

I'm very surprised at what cars I can run down on the highway and so are their owners.

These wagons are OK, but I think that I really like the "lightweight" sporty wagons from a few threads down a little better.

Could be that the "Sporty" part is nice, but that "Lightweight" stuff is tugging at me and I LIKE it.
