The second picture is definitely a side view mirror. Drivers side. The vent and all black plastic make me think older American car.

No way. Judging from the vent and the way that the fuzzy fabric is coming loose from the door seal I'm going with E30.

answer please, I spotted a similar treatment on a mitsu mirage, only not as well done, they only added badges and centercaps, and blacked out the mitsu logo thats cast into the grill

Correct. Picture was taken from my old E30 318is
hardbody or 720? if thats a D21 they actualy did a lot of work to that hood!
