Spotted on the road

I saw a car this weekend that has me a bit confused. It looked like a C3 Vette a bit from the front having a similar overall shape and hood.

The thing was definitely modern - not a car from the 60's. It was a convertible with little fairings behind the two seats. I really think it was a modern vette with some sort of kit or conversion to make it look like a Stingray.

I was trying to figure this out from my rearview mirror as it was a ways behind me. Later I saw it from the side briefly as the couple driving it stopped for some ice cream.

What did I see? Sorry, but no pics.

Something like a convertible version of this.

Someone out there maks a kit that takes C5's and puts a reto (67ish) body on it.

The Grand Sport kit is hot The c2/c5 kit is not

It looked a lot like the C2/C5 kit. Not like the grand sport.
