I ran across this product on vwvortex - SprintBooster.

Any experiences with this? I think Blitz has something similar. It is supposed to amplify the signal on drive by wire cars so there is less lag between the pedal and the FI system. Personally the drive by wire on my 2005 Legacy drives me bonkers sometimes so I am interested in any solution. If I had a WRX or a Legacy GT I might be able to get similar results with a tune, but there is no tune for my car.
For some real fun you could put this on a new Toyota and see some super unintentional acceleration.
DONT DO IT!!!! It will annoy you within the first 10 minutes of use.
Get this instead (brilliant)

There are a very few cars that use a ratio of pedal motion to throttle opening that seems out of whack and for those few, this sort of thing is useful.
For everything else it is a rip off. There is no performance advantage at all, just a different ratio on the accelerator.
I'd put the $330 they want to get from you now into fuel instead.
It's just like changing the wheel on your throttle butterfly. You can get a round one or a cam. No matter, full throttle is full throttle. There was a guy selling them for Miatas a while back and he claimed a better 0-60 time. Uhh, yeah...
I am not looking for performance gains. I just hate the way my DBW does not respond to the pedal when going uphill. I find myself feathering the clutch to get the proper speed which is just stupid.
Sell it and buy 6 old cars with throttle cables.
I NEED something that would give 3 buttons. Economy, performance and linear (Cable sim....)
Strictly for the point of leaving it in econ to ignore my foot to return mpg on the daily grind, linear for most other times and perf. to impress, or to look cool.
I HATE these e-throttles. Can't give me economy, can't give me a normal feel. need to over-ride. Getting to the point where you soon won't be able to avoid the e-throttle. Try to inch up a steep driveway at a slow speed. You can't....
Remember that cables aren't necessarily linear. It all comes down to the design of the cam on the throttle body.
Two of my vehicles have drive by wire - the Toyota pickup and the M5. Other than the fact that the M5 has a Sport button that remaps the pedal/throttle ratio, you can't tell. There's certainly no problem with creeping around on the truck.

Funny you like your toyota, I can't stand mine. (07 Vibe). I have a steep driveway with a dip at the bottom, so come in slow and drive up. Stupid e-throttle will either just sit there or jerk forward with too much throttle. Trying to drive it up ramps, same thing. Can't ease up them. I THINK the throttle map opens for a second then closes some after a second as it assumes the car begins rolling forward with no throttle change. I can feel it change the throttle when my foot does not move.
Drove a vw with the e-throttle, felt like I had to have the gas half way to the floor to keep highway speeds. From what I read in the manual, the ECM would interpret what speed you want from pedal input and figure it out itself.
I have a saturn with the e-throttle but its not as bad. 2 things I love about the e-throttles are the "hill hold" or when you ride your brakes for a bit going down hill it will downshift or the quick throttle blip to pass which downshifts almost instantly. I have a theory that the e-throttle is responsible for lower fuel economy with my particular driving style. I have always beat epa estimates by a large margin with cable throttles, I come in right on epa estimates with these e-throttles in vehicles that should be able to get better.. Sorry for a long post, I want to love e-throttle, it seems like it has great potential, but I can't get used to it.
It just depends on how it's implemented. Automakers can do it badly or they can do it well - kinda like ABS. I think you'd be surprised how many performance cars use them. All of the LS motors in the last decade or so, for example.

A lot of people gripe about the e-throttle on the mazdaspeed3, when the reality is that they have a heavy dual mass flywheel and simply poor throttle response. Once I put a boost gauge in I could see that there was near zero lag between my right foot and the response on the gauge.
Could be that you just aren't making enogh torque to accelerate up hills like you think you should. G/f has a legacy wagon with the auto and while it's peppy enough around town, it leaves quite a bit to be desired on the highway. Remember, once you're at 0 vacuum, there is no more power to be had by opening the thottle more.
