The seat in my daily driver is squeeking every time I go around a corner, over a bump, shift my weight, look at it funny, etc. It is driving me nuts!
Anybody deal with this sort of thing before? Is there an easy solution?

oh man, how about cheap and easy? or failing that just cheap
Though if I could get a pair of recaros out of the new rx-8 to fit....
Squeaks are USUALLY, but not always caused by metal rubbing metal(sometimes, plastic rubbing plastic will squeak too). When it's metal, metal that is normally painted is scraped free of paint...which makes it easy to find (when it's on the outside). About the only easy place to try to cure seat squeak is at the hinge. If the squeak is internal, as in a loose or broken spring, you need a new seat to probably get an upholsterer's help.
warranty is expired (factory warrenty only goes to 50K), music works ok most of the time but when I have a passenger it gets a bit embarrasing.
Both of my vehicles have passenger seats that squeak, but only if nobody's sitting in them...which is almost all the time. There's no real quick fix, so if you really want to fix this you can start by removing the seat. Total disassembly will probably be involved.
Well, there is a quick fix actually...buy a new Porsche, they're all squeakproofed from the factory (That's what I tell people who complain about squeaks)
I forgot, my Civic developed a squeaking seat that turned out to be the seat moving around on it's rails. The rails remained attached to the floor, but my hard driving had widened the top/inside of the rails. Short of new rails (if this is your problem) I'm not sure if taking the seat out of the car and tightening them again will work...........if that is the prob.
