My impression is that is where all the people who do hackjobby crap like deliberately rusty cars, scary-bad suspension lowering like 2x4s as lowering blocks on a Wrangler, and more "accessorizing" (axes and hammers welded to random parts, for example) than 24 hours of the Home and Garden Channel.

Wow, you mustn't have been to the same HAMB that I'm on.
That's the complete opposite of 99% of the builds there.
Usually that ratrod garbage gets run off pretty quick.
The new, kinder, gentler HAMB is nothing like the old one, you don't need a firesuit anymore. It kinda sucks becuase it's harder to weed out the idiots.
