Team T-Bone is officially in. Bringing a Dajiban. Picked up a 99 B1500 with a 5.7 for $750. Former telephone/cable van or something like it. Doo-doo brown and looks like it was painted with a roller. Runs on starting fluid, thinking it's a bad fuel pump. Now to figure out how to lower it! I'll post up some pics once we get all the crap out of it and wash it.
I'm VERY curious what it weighs in at after stripping it out.
Not mine but thought this may be relevant here. Pretty rare I have only seen one in person, and that is the one I owned years ago. 5 speed Astro van

Now I am sad that I sold my $300 Eagle Summit.

I've still got (2) 1st gen Odysseys I am about to sell.
1st gen vs 2nd gen
Wheelbase 111.4" vs 118.1"
Height 64.6" vs 68.8"
Length 187.2" vs 201"
Width 70.6" vs 77.1"
Track 60.0" vs 66.7"
Weight 3450 vs 4378
Drop in a more performance oriented Honda whatever engine, and off you go!

Shhh!, you guys are killing me... Keep talking about turbo Dodges. I think it is obvious what I am building.
In reply to SVreX:
Where are you located? I might just be in the market for a pair of Odysseys for '16...

This class scares me. Most vans mentioned here don't meet SCCA rollover requirements for *street class* which runs on **street tires**. A lot of them out outside of them by a significant margin. I don't see how auto crossing them on R comps **won't** result in rollovers.
Rules say cars that dont meet the SCCA static stability factor are relegated to 200 TW rated tires or higher.
Not that you don't still have a very valid point though.
Right. The rules say that that, but no one checked the treadwear rating on any tires.
ProDarwin's point is very valid. Seems to me this idea should be floated by Martin Sports Club before running with it.
Minivans HAVE entered before, and CAN be made competitive and safe. But then there is that chopped roof Caravan thing. Ummm...

There's an AWD 5-speed Mitsubishi Expo with the NA 4G63 for sale near me.
I'm sure the westside guys would be able to make something out of it.
In reply to 2002maniac:
Please clarify as to where "near me" is.
Yeah, a 4g63 turbo Summit vs a turbo Caravan would make some awesome editorial content!
Let this serve as a prelude...I have been informed that a competitor has made an impressive acquisition and an announcement will be coming soon.
This is not to say that the Dajiban announced above is not also incredibly impressive. Game on.
About 2 months ago in the Cleveland OH CL there was a awd Colt Vista sporting a full Evo drive train. Oh, I wonder where it went?
Really, if anyone knows, send me a PM.
I'm actively searching for a maxi Dajiban. Because go big or go home.

I am done berking around...
Having owned a 93 3.0 caravan and a 99 3.8. Id say the early van is a much better starting point for fwd chrysler. It was actually fun to drive.
I'm both fascinated and horrified at the traction this idea has. Bravo.
Autocross, shmotocross ... I wan't to pull the front wheels.
SVreX, sent you a message about your odysseys... Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks!

Let me guess, this plan involves four separate engines.
In reply to David S. Wallens:
Not 4, that would be overkill. 2, however, seems just right to me :)
Ill sell our rendezvous for $500 for challenge use. Could easily zero that out by selling wheels and new goodyear all seasons. Hit front, rad pushed back to engine. Trans under 5k on rebuild that cost 2 grand, new rack, new front struts/springs, new rear calipers/pads/drilled rotors. 118-120k miles, Ohio salvage title. Yank the damage close, toss on radiator, gut, cut springs, add wide ford pattern soft 8's and junkyard turbo.
If you promise to challenge it I'll throw in an eaton m90 from a supercoupe that was once owned by andrew nelson.
