Well this week the madness begins. My last day for finals is Wed morning so that afternoon the girlfriend and I will start the weed elimination on the Cutlass then start gutting the interior.
So since the project will officially be underway I need to start gathering parts. I have a Muncie 4 spd lined up for it and my uncle has a lead on a Ford 9 inch rear with disks to go in it. Engine should be no problem to find.
Tonight I started tossing around ideas for the interior, its going to be fairly stripped down. Interior panels will basically just be refitted with sheet metal, everything will go from the tan/brown to black. I need to find a new dash panel and I was wondering if a dash from a Camaro/Trans Am would fit? Anyone have a 70's vintage one that they could measure up for me (width, depth)? Also how far apart are the studs for mounting the seats? I'm wondering if I can just drop in a set of Camaro buckets to get rid of the split bench. Finally what is the width and height of the rear seat in the same generation Camaro/Trans Am?
Idea so far is like I said completely stripped, sheet metal interior panels, black carpet, seat from a Camaro (front and back), dash from a Camaro as well, more than likely no stereo in the car (if there is maybe only 2 speakers), MAYBE a center console around the floor shifter not sure yet.
