I'm looking for a power steering rack with approximately 31" between the inner pivots.

Anyone know dimensions of some good options? NA/NB Miatas are 24". I've always been searching for something narrow.

Inner pivots = inner ball joint pivots, right? e30/e36/e46 racks are around that size, but can't find a source to confirm at the moment. someone around here must have one handy and a tape.

Yup, inner ball joint pivots.

It looks like Flamming River has a document with listed 'Pivot Lengths' and the Mustang II/Fox ones are around the 24-25" range. They have a custom one, however. What about a full size truck? Or a Crown Victoria?

Yeah, F150 uses a rack, it's bound to be a bit wider, eh?

Didn't one of the LoCost list have a spreadsheet with this info? I recall looking for it a while back and someone here pointed it to me but that projects still stalled...

The FC RX-7 rack is the same internally as Miata but a few inches longer.

Are you looking for a front steer or rear steer rack? I can think of plenty rear steer racks that are that wide.

Bringing this back from the dead since I'm also looking for a rack that is 31" wide (tie rod pivot to tie rod pivot).

Keith - did you find one that's 31" wide?

Some internet searching found this thread where a few in that ballpark are mentioned:

https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/78242-4th-gen-camaro-vs-C5-steering-rack-width

Specifically (per Matt Jones from Art Morrison):

Cadillac CTS (version?) - 740mm, (29.13")

C5/C6 Corvette - 835mm (32.87")

2008 Mustang - 760mm (29.92")

The Mustang one is likely close enough for my project, and super cheap vs a customer aftermarket one.

Technically called the inner ti-rod end.
