Simple question, probably for Keith... I drained my NA fuel tank with the drain plug. I put it back in and now I'm getting a very slow drip. Is there some kind of sealant or a crush washer for the fuel drain?

Wow! thanks! After looking at mine more, the washer was being held with crud/undercoating. I think I stopped the stink.

Pricy yeah..but it is actually a crush washer and a fastener with a machined surface on the backside of the head; not just a hardware-store bolt and washer.
I became quite familiar with these as the wife-unit's Protege used to erode an escape channel in the washer every two years for reasons that I could never figure out.
Doesn't seem bad to me. Last bolt I bought was $15 each from the dealer. Of course they were M16 Grade 10 or something.
Interesting to learn the rear surface on something like that is machined. I didn't know that.

Maybe "machined" is the wrong word. It was a flat surface designed for the seal to sit on. Much like this oil drain plug.
Maybe. Probably. But how much gas and time will you waste finding out in order to save a couple of bucks?
