Stolen race car! Tampa FL area.

From Matt Coyne, CFL Region SCCA (via Facebook):

"HELP!!! Our race car and trailer have been stolen from our storage location in Wesley Chapel. The trailer is a 16ft long, silver in color and has logos on side and back that say RED HOT TIKI. Our race car is a red VW Golf. Please let us know if you have seen it. Please pass the word. Please repost Thanks Matt"

He's been asked for specifics (year/car class) or pictures, but hasn't responded yet.

Damn it!

Thieves have been going after race cars big time lately. My Facebook has been lit up with stories like Justin Pawlak's~ FC RX-7, Walker Wilkerson's~ S13.4, and some model's 1000+hp Supra being stolen and chopped up. This is a disturbing trend.

I'm nowhere near Tampa, but good luck to all the folks involved.

While eating at my favorite sports bar tonight, I overheard the people at the table next to me talking about how their dually, enclosed trailer, and IMCA modified was stolen last night.

Update! Rig and car are safe, only things missing are a jack and a compressor. Suspects are in jail. They've been stealing trailers for awhile, Matt says they (his crew & the cops) were tracking down people all night getting them their stuff back.
