So I got my new Cusco strut tower bars in for my Subaru. They are so nice and shiny, and it was such a beautiful morning today, that I decided to install them. So I sprayed the strut tower bolts with some CRC Freeze-Off and set to work.

However, when I tried loosening one of the strut bolts... SNAP!

Now I'm driving with my driver's side strut missing one of its three bolts (I know this is dangerous). Someone at a recent autocross suggested Ingall's camber bolts. Since I'm trying to upgrade my car anyways, I figure I would try to kill two birds with one stone here: Would the camber bolts be a direct replacement for the strut bolts?

The camber bolts they suggested go through the strut and steering knuckle (2 huge bolts)

The bolt you broke is where the strut mount meets the body (3 small bolts)

In other words... No. But you will have to remove the strut and replace the strut mount, so you will have to undo all 5 bolts anyways, so you could add the camber bolts while you are in there.

Not sure about your year, but later Subarus all have camber bolts from the factory in the front, so he may have been talking about the rear or adding a 2nd pair up front.
