So I'm no stranger to AW11 MR2s, I've had my '89 for 20 years, and another one back in the '90s, I've completely rebuilt the suspension, etc.  This summer I did a small stupid thing.  I went to open the rear trunk with the key and turned it to the left.  As you AW11ers know (and I found out the hard way), this disconnects the inside cabin release.  It works fine with the key, turning to the right, of course, but I'd like to get the inside release working again, and the owners manual doesn't tell you how.  Neither does the BGB, as far as I can tell.  Anyone out there have the secret?

On my '89 Celica, if you turned it to the left it would not allow to use the inside lever. But if you turned it back to the middle it would work again.

Are you saying that it still not working when you go back the other way?

In reply to Jim Pettengill :

Pull off the back wall carpet/trim in the trunk to see the back of the lock and see if the plastic clips are still correctly attached to the rod of the lock mechanism.
