Is there one? DD#1's 2002 Impreza has started spotting a little at 100k. I assume it's the external HG leak. Is there any kind of goodwill program for out of warranty cars?

I guess it's worth a shot, ibut I doubt they'll do anything for free on a 13 year old car.

I wouldn't count on anything. You are likely do for a timing belt service as well. Get it all done including cam seals while the engine is out.

Not that I am aware of.

Subaru is actually pretty good about recall issues, for example, I had my former 02 WRX in to have the cold weather fuel line recall done 2 years ago. Covering recall work on an 11 year old car, is in my mind, pretty good. They have also covered some engine issues on my Mom's 04 Legacy out-of-warranty.

I have not read of a single person who was able to get HG issues covered, especially on an older car like yours.

They had a TSB about adding "Coolant Conditioner" added a few years ago. Was this done on yours?

Brother got his covered at 125k but had been taking it in to the dealer starting at about 70k for over heating issues on long trips. He was covered %100 due to having a history that pre dated the warranty expiring.I think he paid for a got the 100k warranty.
