I have a 96 Legacy Outback, and ever since I have had it the fill plugs in the rear differential have been seized. I have pulled a couple of low mileage differentials over the years, and the rear axles have finally worn out and I am trying to swap one in, and I have run into a problem wiht the CV joint fitment. I have axles from a 1996 Legacy L wagon automatic, and I am trying to install them into a differential from a 1999 Legacy L wagon automatic, but I am not sure if they fit. On Rock Auto, they list the same axles from 1995-1999 for all Legacys, but the axles I removed from my car (the original ones) are definitely different, and Subaru lists different part numbers for 1996 and 1999. Does anyone have any idea which axles I should use with the 1999 differntial?
