Not mine.... Says it only needs a trans... http://newlondon.craigslist.org/cto/1898213691.html
"NEEDS A TRANS..." On a SVX, that pretty much goes without saying. These cars were notorious for "eatting" transmissions.
The cars don't eat transmissions. The owners do- by failing to change the fluid at appropriate intervals.
But , yeah- a lot of them need trannies.
I've done the 5 spd swap. Makes a great car! That pic looks just like my 5spd SVX.
It's not hard, but it requires some minor fabrication.
You have to mod the trans/ pedals/ propeller shaft from another car (since there never was a 5 spd SVX from the factory).
But there are hundreds of them out there now, with excellent online support.

The color on my monitor isn't so clear, but I'm pretty sure that is the wine color known as "Claret".
If so, it is a 1992, which means it is AWD. The sunroof makes it an LS-L model (touring package).
1992 was also the only year with no speed limiter.
I disagree.
The STI is the same hp as the 3.3L. Might save a few pounds, but that's about it.
The STI 6 spd trans would be awesome. Can't do it for Challenge prices.
It would free up some serious space for a honkin intercooler!

How so? Last i checked there about a 70hp difference stock to stock, and im guessing the torque area under the curve suffers even more vs the turbo motor.
I know its a strong N/A but im wondering where you're getting the other 70hp.
Whooops- excuse me. You're right. I was thinking of the WRX.
The older STI's had 247 hp. New ones have 305hp. SVX had 230hp.
