looking for a 96 or older Impreza grille. I installed 96 headlights on my daughter's 98 because the tuner headlights on the car, installed by the previous owner, were junk, but now I find that the shape of the older lights were different than her 98 and her grille will not fit. The pick-n-pulls are out of grilles or headlights and E-bay is ridiculous.
Did you try closing the hood yet? The hood profile across the front would be different also. When I converted our '96 to '98 RS parts I found it all gets changed together.
I switched the car back when we sold it. The only parts I couldn't sell were the '97 headlamps (which will fit yours). I gave them to my local salvage yard for "store credit". You can give them a call 717-394-0670. They will ship UPS.
Didn't think about the hood. It closes with the 96 headlights, but haven't tried a grille. I will try the salvage yard. Thx
