My wife and I are considering getting back to a dedicated tow vehicle/family hauler and getting a car for her DD. Looking at '03-06 Burbs and curious how to tell if the truck has the factory tow package with the 3.73 gears. The internets seem to say there is a 3.42 gear ratio and 3.73. Do all burbs have the tow/haul button on the shifter?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that the 3.73 gear on my 04 was a separate option line. We bought it used and I will tell you that the 3.73 turns more rpm and gets about 2mpg lower on highway. Around town it is fairly quick/responsive though. Think about how much weight you will be pulling and then decide on the gear.
I tend to run a taller gear and then tow in D not OD. Some trans will shut off flow to the coolers in OD...(700R4) and that is what burned up most of them towing. Also it is a good idea to pull down to D/3rd before forcing the downshift with the throttle...less converter slip = less heat = longer life.
