Surprised I never heard this story on here, "Save The Lazer" formula Vee

Stumbled onto this today

Looks like this guy really got a bum deal. He acquired the rights and tooling to build what appears to be a very successful Formula Vee design. Hauls all the tooling and molds back to Florida .... and somebody promptly goes and steals the trailer still containing everything.

What a cool looking little Vee too. Hope he is able to get things started up again.
I'll have to drop him a line and see if he's still got shirts or something available.

Other then Formula 1 and Indy Car, open wheel cars don't exist in the GRM universe. I blame the non existence of open wheel cars on NASCAR scientists who have invented the rain tire as evidenced by the race at Mid Ohio. Open wheel cars and NASCAR rain tires can't exist in the same universe.

Damn that sucks. Tooling is going to end up as scrap call the local salvage yards and see if anybody has anything jig looking.

Uh, Tim restored a Zinc Formula Vee 15 years ago and got his vintage racing license in it. That was a magazine project car, too. Maybe time to revisit that one.

I remember that car my memory is not the greatest but I thought that was mid to late 90's damn I'm old. Regardless I would love to see more open wheel content.

I read this 3x and still can not figure what you are getting at.

I can think of a Florida guy who could probably use a leg up getting his operation going again after so heinously being robbed. Classic Formula Vee, underdog story, very close to you. Sounds like a bucket of potential

Been emailing him back and forth, bought a t-shirt. He's still trying to start building the chassis again. Sounds like he just really needs somebody to take a leap of faith and order one.

I wonder how a formula first chassis would do in autocross. NASA NXU would mean essentially none of the FF/FV restrictions, so 1000lbs and 100-150hp, with good 13 inch autocross sized tires. Hmmmmmm
