And sold wife's Mazda5 (wife's DD)
That should net about $12k. Add to that a $13k note, hmmm???
The internet tells me that $13k at 4% for 4 years is just under $300 per month.
Unless you're dying to have fewer cars that's a hard pass. Get rid of three awesome old cars for one newer, pretty good car and take on debt to do it? Yeah no thanks.
You have me hunting these now. I had one a few months ago as a rental and it was fantastic. It was thirsty, but still fantastic. This may be my 4Runner replacement.
The ex rentals are usually SV models with cloth interior, nav. Not sure if 2nd row is captain chairs or bench. I work at a Nissan store and they are nice tanks. The non loaded up ones seem to be miles cheaper than the loaded ones.
I have such a general disinterest in SUVs that until I opened the post and read it, I wasn't sure what an Armada was or which brand. Looks like a nice upgrade. Good deal on the leather as well.

Deep discounts on new?

Exactly, the sv's have nav, heated seats and cloth interior. Mine has the power tailgate, power 3rd row and 4x4. The same truck as a platinum is 43k at the auction. That's why I bought the base and installed leather. I figure I got 85% of the platinum for half the price.

Great score!
I could forgo the leather and 20s and really be happy with $25k. Wheels turning.
Let's not forget the 7,000 lb tow rating
Trust me the leather transformed the car. It had weird mousey fabric before but now it looks, feels and smells like a new 70k qx80 inside.
Nissan fabric is awful. I will say that.
This is crazy and awesome. Autotrader has gobs of '17's and '18's with under 50k miles with asking prices in the mid/high $20's. Makes me think about trading my '10 Sequoia with 116k on one and doing the same thing (though my current plan is to put another 100k on it). I'm currently driving a rental Tahoe as my truck is in the body shop and the almost new Tahoe is a disappointment compared to my much older truck. Might have to check out an Armada to see what it is like. The cloth interior really does look terrible in the pics... Leather replacement would be a must.
pimpm3 said:...not to mention in other countries the patrol is a land cruiser competitor. Granted we don't get all cool off road goodies they do but still the bones are the same.
As a Landcruiser fanboi/200 owner I just gotta say that just because they are in the same class does not mean they are competitors.
There is a lot of difference in the LC200 vs the Armada Platinum to make up the $22k swing in MSRP.
Anyway....
An armada and a land cruiser are not direct competitors. But a patrol and a land cruiser are aimed at the same buyers and have been competing for a long time.
In full disclosure I am a land cruiser fan having owned a 1981 and a 2000 model.

Hm, interesting that this is a thing. I see a bunch of 2018 4x4s near me at or under $30k. At some point I'll need to rid myself of the Navigator and this is an attractive choice overall.
We have been very happy with it so far. The only complaint to this point is it has less storage cubbies in it than the previous generation.

I was going to post that I’d surprised my wife with the Spanish Inquisition. She wouldn’t have found that funny either...
I like Armadas. I’ve rented a couple. I’ve also rented a couple QX80’s and a QX56 (Patrols I think). I prefer the Armadas. The QX’s just seem slower (yes I know...over 400hp) and less nimble. Maybe my imagination?
Picked up a set of 20 inch titan wheels this weekend for $150.00.
Bought new Michelins and had them installed today.
dang...where'd you find the wheels so cheap? I've got a `13 Armada with the platinum reseve pack on it, so it's got the 20 inch chrome wheels that are clearcoated darker....of course that E36 M3 is peeling on one wheel now and looks awful. I've been looking at stock takeoff's and havent seen anything anywhere near 150 bucks.
