The best thing about SUVs is pissing off just about everyone!
I completely agree. Go big or go home I say. Watching just about everyone loose there mind "because H2" makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Actually caring what others think about what I want to drive? BAAAAAAHAHAHA. Now that is a funny concept to me. I think the saying "We are not happy until your not happy" best describes why I have this vehicle.
Why stop there? Git yerself a diesel and roll some coal!

Missing a lift and at least 24" rims
I'm glad someone brought up the H2. This thread reminded me of its existence. I have a strong attraction to it but no idea why. I think it's actually more ridiculous without modifications because any truck will look bonkers with a big lift and rims but the H2 looks that way straight out of the factory. FWD car based SUVs of today are extremely tame in comparison to trucks from the era that gave us the Hummer H2.
Hard to believe that this thread is seven pages long and there still seems to be some confusion about the fact that no man should give a E36 M3 what another person drives.
To those that seem to be concerned by it, may I suggest a new hobby such as complaining about your neighbors leaves that blew into your yard?

On a funny side not i was at the local ice rink complex and took this photo. There were probably 1000 vehicles there (ten rinks).
Don't see a Miata anywhere...

Oooh, a bus! We should all ride the bus. We don't need our own cars or trucks at all! I should start a thread...
Edit: took out the rant

I don't have ANY big trees in my yard, but my neighbors have big walnut and oak trees all around me. The neighbor with just a minivan and a Spark is the worst. All of 'his' leaves blow to my side of the cul-de-sac. The other neighbors have SUVs and take care of their own leaves.
I'm sure this will get surfed over and good.
But I have a proposal.
Every small/medium/large/what the berkeley is that doing on public roads sized tubs of lard should be made to complete the BAJA 1000 before being released for sale to the general public.
Standard everything. No mods. Regular fluids. Maybe a min. speed. Must finish obviously. Then I wouldn't puke when I look at each one of these 'lifestyle' vehicles. There might be some merit to their existence in this world other than you can cram stuff into them for practice of something.
Oh yeah no professional drivers. Find a crew of drivers that all have failure to yields or tailgating violations and make them drive it.

Lighten up Francis. VW Beetles have completed Baja (look up class 11).. Maybe you should take your Versa.

That looks like NESC in Marlborough.
Between the gear and the fact that practice/games dont get canceled because of weather it's not surprising to see that SUVs with a sprinkling of Minivans make up the majority of vehicles there.

Thanks, it's all stock with the exception of the winch and 33 inch tires. Around 140k miles and the AC still blows cold. I drive it pretty often. I'm partial to the 89-91 1/2 tons due to having fuel injection, OD, and the 4 headlight grill. I bought that one out of CA and had it shipped to TN. I did the same thing with the 78.

Your statement is completely self-contradictory. You claim that caring what others think is a funny concept to you, yet the statements on both sides of that claim clearly show that you enjoy having the H2 because it pisses people off. So you do care what others think; you just prefer to go against that grain.
Own being contrarian, if that's what gets you off.
I dont care what people think of my vehicale choices and there opininion has no bearing on my choices. What I find it funny watching other peoples heads explode because of my choices but that does not dictate my vehical choices. Make sence? I think one of us is over thinking this.

You know. . . .. That is actaully the motor that should have been in these things but it was not a factory option for the H2 that I know of.

I can not believe that I had to actually articulate this.
