Is this too big for a 1UZ in a challenge car?
Doing some looking, this was made forever ago. Might be too old to bother since I can get a 6.0L Powerstoke turbo for $300.
That turbo is for a 14L engine. To put that in perspective, Wreck Racing's 3.0L 2JZ Midget had a turbo off a 5.9L Cummins. And it lagged a bit.
Damn, I obviously don't know anything about those engines.
No such thing as a turbo to big. Just spray it with nitrous to help it spool. I kid. Sorta.
The problem with most diesel turbos is the a/r is too big for gassers and therefore you get the lag. It will work, just spray it to spool it or have to run some sort of super retarded timing to make it spool with a barely combusted fuel charge in the exhaust pipe.....
