Talk me out of a 2nd gen F body for rallycross.

So BoxheadTim is coming to pick up the 95 M I have, so I will have a spot for a rallycross car.

I was thinking CVPI but I haven't really been swayed by them.

A 81 Firebird with a 400 and a turbo 350 has shown up on FB marketplace and it speaks to me. 

I dont care about being competitive since it would be put in MR anyway since it was a V6 car.

Does it have a posi rear?  If you go for it have a look at my line of  parts for strengthening suspension pick up points and chassis stiffening https://lab-14.myshopify.com/

They’re very noodly and if you don’t do solid subframe bushings and proper weld in through the floor subframe connectors you’re possibly going to start tearing floor stuff apart.  

Please do 15x10. Cragar ss wheels and 33x12.50x15 mud tires. 

I can't help with the Firebird but I will do some enabling. The CVPI is a hoot. I ended up in MR because the Mustang wheels are wider than the stock steel wheels. I still managed to win the championship for the year much to the dismay of a couple of Miatas.

I know the cvpi is the correct choice but I was also looking for other options. I am going to message the cvpi dealer here to see if he has any with lsds.

I wouldn't use a Flexbody for off-road use without reinforcement.

Drive one on pavement for a little while and watch how much shake and flex you get from the front end when you hit some bumps.

With a Ford 8.8" solid rear axle, the hearing and LSD options are cheap and plentiful.  Consider a Lincoln Town Car too. I like mine.

I have the dealer checking door codes on his 4 p71's to see if any are LSD cars

i was told that once...it still makes me laugh - but the 2nd gen cars are great, you won't find opposition here. 3rd gens are fun cars as well!
