Spied this in Craigslist:

I'm in the middle of building my '95 M3 for track day events. I really don't need another project. I have always loved the early 6 series cars, but 5 speeds are hard to find. This car looks so nice. Could I swap in an S50, S52 or S54 and call it a day? I don't want to do an LS motor, because then I would need to change the tranny and rear end.
Help me...
I like ads that say MINT CONDITION! and then later mention there's no engine in the car. It does look pretty clean, though. An S50/52/54 would require some fabrication for motor mounts and they won't bolt up to the original transmission, the only engine that will drop right in with minimal work is an M30.
Looks waaaay to clean to write off; repower it and have fun.

All humanity must band together and vow to save every 6-series ever made. They are an international treasure on the order of the Pyramids. Every individual who takes a 6 into their stewardship shall be showered with good karma during the duration they care for the 6. No 6 shall ever be abandoned, crushed, scrapped or parted out.
This does not apply to the bloated ego-mobiles built 2003 and later.

M30 is the right engine for it - an S38 variant is even better.

Damn... except for the whole "ain't got no engine" bit, that looks really clean. Even the driver's seat looks good. They're usually knackered on 30+ year old cars, even if taken care of.
I wonder how hard would it be to stuff an LS into one of these...
Those appear to be Recaro seats as well, they're not the standard BMW issue sport seats.
edit: after reading the ad again, they're Corbeau seats.
That's a fat old man's poser car.
Sweet! So many possibilities right there.
is he trying to say the quarter panels have been replaced? that could be anywhere from OK to terrible.

Good thing it's too far away, or I'd finish it like I wanted to to do with my old 633 project:
as i had it:
As I wanted it:
complete with V8 swap.
