I dunno, you could put some cool stuff on there. Flames for your HPDE car? Cone kill markings for your autocross tires? Fake patina'd old racing slick sidewall (like Avon or something)?

. On the right car they could look pretty smart. Union Jacks for a mini, as an example.
As a matter of fact, if Hello Kitty were on them my wife would buy a lifetime supply. 
If those were performance oriented I would rock those. But I am willing to bet they won't be.

Don't get hung up on the plaid. Sponsors and manufacturers now have another spot to put logos. And yes RE-11s will be able to have it also.
