So I was talking to a friend and we were thinking about co-driving an autocross/ rallycross car next year. He was going to buy it and we were going to split running cost. We had been thinking about a RWD car but then we saw this.

What can you tell me about Sciroccos?
If I could, I'd buy that car first and ask questions later!
Allow me to state the question in an easier to understand format: What do you think about a really sexy girl who is a few years older than me, but is an absolute tiger in the bedroom?
(You want the Scirocco!)
The MKII 8v Sciroccos are probably my least favorite 'roccos, but they're still sweet cars. I don't really know where to start, so I guess if you think of some specific questions post them up and I'll do my best to answer them!
It's essentially a Rabbit with a great-looking body, right?
How would it hold up to rallycross abuse? I guess we would need to ditch the lowering springs in order to rallycross it.
Yup, it's a rabbit with a slightly heavier body.
The 8V engines are incredibly simple and will take tons of abuse, there are a few swaps/mods available to pick up a few horsepower but they're best enjoyed near stock. The CIS injection is a weird animal, you can either sort it out to run well or just live with its foibles. The transmissions are a little fragile, a limited slip diff helps eliminate part of the problem.
The a1 chassis are not very stiff and will quickly get more floppy with abuse, the cage will help slightly. It will take rallycross abuse just fine.

A rabbit is a better choice to go with if you're a normal sized american. Really hard to fit into a scirocco with a helmet on...
I know that car. It is an already sorted, logbooked SCCA car and is quick. I've seen that car on one wheel coming around a switchback that went from on-camber to off-camber at Crow Mountain Hillclimb. If I had the room and already wasn't mostly done converting the Miata to a track-capable car, I'd be all over that. Just not enough room or $$.
Here it the pic. Was a different color then.
