This has got to stop.
All the enabling here has now landed me my fourth car since last summer. First, it was an '09 MINI Cooper S.. Then, in late summer, Sonic called me and told me about a cheap Geo Tracker on CL. Well, since I already had one project Tracker, why not another? $400 later, I got my second Tracker. Then in November we decided to get my wife a bigger car...traded the MINI in and through enabling discussions here came up with the idea of a Kia Forte hatch. She now drives one.
Now, last weekend, this...

It's my new DD. I inherited my wife's old Honda Fit, but as much as I like it, don't really want it for my daily...the idea for this Saab came from where else??? You enablers!! It's an '01 5spd. 126k miles. The guy I bought it from works at at car dealer that sold Saab (now Caddy), he's been there 20 years. He sold this car new. Original owners bought a new car (from him) and he bought this one privately from them. They had it serviced at the dealer from day one and kept all records. So I've got a folder full of receipts, including a nearly new turbocharger, fuel pump, etc... Also had it's oil pan dropped and checked/cleaned for sludge. Body is in great shape, interior is mint. A/C has a leak, but it'll hold a charge for a while. Picked it up for $2900. Thanks guys...![](/media/img/icons/smilies/evil-18.png)
2900 is a steal for something that well maintained, let alone a 5 speed wagon. Enjoy.

5 speed wagon, nearly new turbo, almost challenge money, doesn't take any enabling to see the no-brainer in that one ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
Well done, I still wish I had been able to talk my wife into a wagon istead of our sedan.
What is the tow rating on a 9-5 wagon like that?

its still a GM SAAB....
Looks like a pretty awesome GM Saab to me. You go find you a pos beater 9000 to play with while this dude enjoys his cherry turbo 5 speed wagon. Hell of a deal.
Klayfish!! Dude! That's great. I'm about done with my Volvo, it's just not my thing. Gimme a heads up if/when you decide you're gonna sell the Saab.
Nice looking car. Will you have it at Monticello for me to check out??
Damn good deal but I hope for you its the 2.3Tnot the 3.0t

Congratulations! An `01 Aero wagon popped up for sale locally while I was car shopping, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. I wish I had, I've always liked the look of these.
Also, if the info center has dead pixels, there's a video on youtube showing how to fix it. Seems like a pretty simple fix.

If/when I'm going to sell it?? You know me too well...
Actually, I kept my Volvo wagon for 2 years, and wouldn't have sold it if it wasn't such a gas hog. Plan to keep this one for the forseeable future...whatever that is. I think I'm bringing it to Monticello, it's going to be my sleeping quarters. May bring the minivan though...if I fold the 3rd row and remove the middle seats, I'll have an E36 M3 load of room inside for me to camp out.
Yep, the car is the 2.3T. Thanks for the link Hoop. My a/c display has intermittent pixel issues. One will go out for a minute, then come back on. Yeah, it's part of GM's ownership, but it doesn't have the full monty of GM. Still very Saab-esque.

I spent a little over 2 years wrenching on SAABs back around when that thing was new....
and as always... people compare their ass, and a hole in the ground... "pos beater"? why not make a somewhat fair comparison.... now a 9000CD that has the mileage, and maintenance that this GM SAAB has had.... it will be that much superior. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/wink-18.png)

pos beater came from what I see the most in the used Saab 9000 market. I would love to see a low mileage, manual trans, one owner 9000, with all records from the same dealer since new for $2900. I think I'll be waiting awhile. Whether or not it will be "that much superior" is really a matter of opinion as the older Saabs were not perfect and personal preference and taste play a lot into owner satisfaction. It's like the guys that hate on Jag and Aston when they went under Ford ownership. If someone drove up to, say your place of business, in a sweet 99 V12 Vantage, and they seemed proud of it, would you sneer and say "It's still a FORD Aston"?
