I decided to start a new thread since the last one got derailed a bit, and also share my experience with the dealership Bob Moore Subaru of OKC.
Last week of April I ordered a '23 BRZ, Limited, 6spd, in Ignition Red with the optional STi short throw shifter. One advantage of going with the Subaru over the Toyota is actually being able to put down a deposit and order exactly what you want vs Toyota, where you just hope they get an allocation of what you want. I think for 2022 it was 6700 GR86's built to 1300 BRZ's..........approximately.
It finally arrived yesterday and I was able to pick it up today.
Ocie (my sales guy) at Bob Moore was great. Walked in, we sat down at his desk, pulled up the order app on his computer and ran through everything. Took about 30 minutes, put down my deposit, and left with a signed order sheet that I would get the car at MSRP with no ADM or "dealer required" accessories.
Finished up the paperwork today, and their in-house financing was able to beat the best from PenFed by 3/4%. All around a great experience.
Trying not to put too many miles on it until it goes in for ceramic coating on the 12th.

Gorgeous! A second gen stopped next to me at the gas station a few days ago, I really like the proportions of them
Looks great in red. Great choice!
Post some interior pictures.
Looks fantastic! I hope you enjoy it!
Congrats! That's a damn good looking car
I thought the 1st gen were good-looking cars, but I think they actually improved things, especially the rear end. It has a more "compact" look to it now (are the dimensions any different?). IN any case, congrats. I'll be looking at these in a few years once my GTI gets too long in the tooth (or my daughter starts driving it).
you a tall guy? curious as I am tall and it's not easy getting in.
I like this car - you picked a great car. I will be watching this thread.
Feels a bit "Caymanesque" in the headlights now. Good looking rig fo sho

Agreed. There's one in the local autox group and they just look great. The Cayman influence is not a bad thing :)
Awesome; as a first-gen owner, I'm envious! Congrats on the new car...enjoy!
This might be a bit long response, but will try to get everyone vs making multiple posts.
First off thanks everyone. When they first released pictures of it at the beginning of last year I was a bit skeptical on the styling, but it grew on me. Obviously to the point I decided to get one! I'm really happy with it and look forward to using track mode and actually using all the tach. Super happy I picked the red, it looks even better in person vs the pictures. All the pictures seem to give it an orange hue, vs the deep fire engine red it really is.
Slippery - I'll try to get some pics of the interior today. I left the windows down in the garage yesterday, still a lot of smells from everything wearing in and off gassing. I drove it off the lot with 5 miles on it.
tremm - Yep. I especially like that vents are actually vents unlike the Supra. The plan is to replace the front brake ducts with the JDM ones that add some LED running lights. Still retains the brake duct intake, but adds a little flair. https://subimods.com/collections/2022-brz-exterior/products/subaru-jdm-foglight-bezels-2022-brz
irish44j - I agree. I've seen a lot of complaints comparing the taillights to an Accord for instance. But I think they look way better and a bit more upscale than the Altezza-style taillights on the first gen.
Datsun310guy - Unfortunately I am not. 5'7-5'8" and too much around the middle thanks to my love of craft beer and good food. It can still be a bit to get in and out, only going to get worse once I lower it.
Keith and everyone - I definitely see the Porsche influence. On the way home yesterday, I stopped at the adult beverage store to get some celebratory libations. A lady walked in behind me "Is that your little Red Subaru out there? Damn it looks really good, I didn't know they made cars like that. I thought it was a Porsche when I first saw it."
ae86andkp61 - I also had a first gen. I ordered a 2015 at the end of 2014. That car got an MXP catback, GC coilovers, 18x9.5 RPF1s with 255/35 Star Specs, and an E85 tune using the OFT. I regret trading that car in on the 135 that treated my wallet like a coked up stripper.

Congrats. My son picked up his 23 BRZ a couple of weeks ago. He had ordered back in the beginning of the year.
To add a bit more, one thing, after sharing the '18 Mazda 3 with my better half for the last 18 months........I forgot how small the Twins are on the inside. My only complaint is that I would like to be able to get the driver seat a little lower.
I pretty much have it planned out on what I'm going to do it, I've been saving and saved my bonuses this year for this specific purpose.
I already have a custom set of 8th Gen FA500s with swift springs with rates and valving setup for mostly street stuff. I have the added duckbill spoiler that comes on the top trim level GR86 (I admit I'm a little nervous about pulling the stock spoiler to drill into to add the extra duckbill). And I have the front 6 speakers for the stereo upgrade from OEM Audio+ on the way, later this year they will release the amps and sub for the trunk. It's a bit pricey, but everything is plug and play and uses the factory wiring harnesses and head unit. Only thing you have to do is run a power cable to the battery. https://oemaudioplus.com/gr86-brz/
So at this point, it's just what catback am I going to go with and what wheels? Since I know the likely hood of AutoX or HPDE is very low with this car, I picked spring rates and valving that aren't track focused.
The goal is to make a really nice, fun car to drive, and just enjoy it vs setting it up like a track car that will make it miserable to drive on the street.

Congrats to your son! They are pretty cool cars.
I've had high HP cars and sportbikes before, they get boring on the street.
To be honest, the car doesn't need anything. I just want it a little lower with wider, different wheels for aesthetics.
Congrats! I have had mine since May and it's been great so far. You are really going to enjoy it.
Awesome choice from an ND owner here and I love that color! They'll never make cars quite like this again (sub 3k lbs, NA, un-electrified, manual trans) so as they say "smoke em if you got em!"

Nice! Leaving it stock? Or planning to track/AutoX it?

Awesome! An ND2 was on the list as well. But I went for BRZ number 2 instead of Miata number 4 :)
Great color!
Did they say anything about the rtv issue?
I like how the new BRZ looks and the JDM fog lights are cool. I wonder why we can't have them from the factory?
Nice score. Do not see many of those I'm red!
