$10,000. Anyone want a kidney?
can't build it to that caliber for that kinda money
seems that could fit in GT-1, although a regional car
Probably, i have am extremely similar chassis with same rear end. When i was loading it, it hooked panhard mount on my trailer. The old guy i got it from put his cane down and lifted the back up by himself.
That sort of thing is the cheapest way to go fast I can think of. Looks like there's lots of good bits in that package.
For a couple of grand and some wrap, it could be a 2016 Mustang, or Camaro, or Challenger, too.
And it would swallow any engine you want to put in it.
Edit- add a 2015 Camaro body and a GM CT525 crate motor. $20k all in.
i wonder if "open track day special" translates to, "uncompetitive in the class it was built for"? And if so, maybe you could get it significantly cheaper? Looks like lots of fun either way! I bet there isn't a production car out there that could be bought and built into anywhere near as serious a track tool for the money.

And why it only has 8:1 compression. Honestly, the whole engine build seems pretty poor. Those engines made ~210hp-225hp stock. He now has it overbored (but dumb low compression) ported heads, an upgraded intake, bigger cam, better valvetrain and headers and is only making 250hp. Just seems kind of weak.

It sounds like that number is just a guess he's throwing out there. Some guys don't assume that their mods make what the boxes say.

You're probably right, He couldn't afford a competitive engine. The other possibility is a major flaw keeps it from passing tech.

Agreed. He passes off the low compression as a possibility to add boost later on, but...meh.
With 8:1 compression even that cam seems a bit too much. It likely needs to wind to 5k to make any power. Even then a less aggressive cam would be a better choice. Or, you know, something like 9:1 static compression, which you can do with cheap pistons and a thin head gasket.
The headers and head work are pretty pointless at that power level, too.
Unless the 306 is for a reason (spec rules?) a 347 or 408 stroker would be a better choice, and the weight penalty would be minimal.
