In preparation for the new motor and the higher levels of boost I plan on throwing at it I decided to do the "dodge mod" to my 1G DSM BOV.
Very well documented and very easy to do. Drill a few holes and tap a few holes. I harvested a vacuum nipple from a spare throttle body and recycled it as my new optional boost reference line.
The car has been running exactly 10psi for the last month. I modified the BOV and today it hits 12 and carries that out all the way to the redline.
Ok. Time for the backstory. When I got this motor boosted and started turning up the pressure I started to blow open the valves....or so we thought. I replaced the intake valves with super stiff aftermarket units and it still happened. Then I was told that it was the exhaust springs I should have changed so I planned on doing them. I started building a new motor and planned on rediculous levels of seat pressure to stop this from happening.
It is nice to have an answer.
