I'm not sure how many of you visit the Builds section regularly, but over the last week or so things are going bonkers. From a quad turbo C4 death kart to a 1949 Willy's Overland Jeepster and everything in between. I'm hoping all of these new posters fill in their stories and stay around for more because the amount of cool is staggering. Please go read and comment and ask these guys questions and be amazed.
Yes, it's been great seeing all of the builds. Thank you, everyone, for all of the updates.

I should really work on the Renault. Not that it's bonkers, I just need to start working. That quad-turbo vette deathkart, tho.

I used to scour the net for outlandish build-threads, now I can eat at home!
Inspiration has hit GRM like a freight train, it seems. Mazdeuce, humble though he is, is a contributor du jour on a frequent basis...
With all the cool build threads, I almost feel ashamed for wanting to make a thread about my 2000 BMW 540i wagon and 1987 Porsche 944S. I guess it's a true testament to how crazy the builds are here, my cars seem kinda boring in comparison, haha

Share them anyway! You never know who you'll inspire.

If a build thread was just a car's spec sheet, wouldn't they all be pretty boring? Doesn't matter what kind of car it is, the human element of the story can make it incredibly interesting.
I just finished reading gearheadE30's write up on his 1993 525iT only to have it end up on CL Great tips to be found on this one also. Not too sure how bad the frame is ,but maybe the mad Russian could be hired to work his hammermagic
I love these, they make my projects appear sane. I think I will start sharing the really nutty ones with swmbo to prove that my little projects are harmless.
Also interesting to note my phone wants to autocorrect swmbo to demon..... NOT sharing that with her.

Dude have you seen how terrible my build threads are? I keep throwing them up anyway.
Someone find Mullet T a shop so he work on da truck!!!!
Like I said a few days back...the GRM collective is living in a golden age of build threads right now. Im really trying to soak it all in!
It is bonkers right now. My current favorite underappreciated build thread is BigD's 900+ HP E30
I've never been able to make a compelling build thread, so I live vicariously through others. I abandoned my Miata thread because it's all been done and documented to death, so seeing the wacky stuff is really fun.
I still encourage everyone to throw their junk up there for a couple of reasons. The first is that you never know where a thread will lead. The R63 was supposed to be me buying a dumb car and driving it around for four years all while only changing the oil.
It's also a good place to throw general information about changes to your car. Which weird junkyard swaybar did you use? When did you change out the rear end? How wide are those wheel spacers? Throw it all up there and even if no one else ever looks at it, at least the next owner can use it as a resource to try and figure out what the hell you were thinking.

What is kind of special about this build threads on this board is that they are grassoots. Anyone could see themselves doing them given the time, space and a bit of budget.
Lateral G and the "build Threads" boards have some magnificent build going on, but they are the domain of NASA shops and rocket surgeons. Then there are the Scandahoovian builds that are all off the charts in techo complexity and my complete inability to figure out why those guys spend that much time in a cold garage when there are Scandahoovian wumanz all over the place!
And I'm guessing that you have noticed our Your Project posts. Basically, we're giving these threads some top billing on our site. Hopefully it's getting more people to check them out.
Thanks again for sharing all of the cool builds and ideas.

Inspiration is cheap and easy. That's largely why this forum exists. Inspiration plus perspiration multiplied by consistency...... not so easy to come by.

Definitely some awesome builds. The quad turbo vette cart is just...
I've still not fixed my Photobucket stuff. That makes my build threads sad and pictureless.
Some good stuff going on around here though.

Minus the next owmer part this is what i do to the zephyr. Its easy to go back and say ok yeah i did replace that. Lol
The cup-o-awesome sauce really has run over lately in the Build Section.
This place is more like a community that also has a magazine. No offense, I love the rag, just wish it didn't take me so long to find a place like home.
