This guy hasn't quit racing. I'm pretty sure he can only use hand controls, but haven't read much about him recently. One of my real-life inspirations. (And to those who didn't grow up watching Indycar racing in it's heyday, it's Alex Zanardi).

Nick, it was great meeting you today. I hope to see you at some more local autox events. Keep us posted on which car you end up with!

Thank you Vince for the chance to have a ride along. I had a blast and can't wait for more events hopefully next time I will had a car ready. Thanks again Vince I appreciate the time and it means a lot.
One thing to note: Don't think an auto is 100% required. There's the Dual Clutch transmissions that are just as efficient as manuals, and shift faster to boot. Might be something to look into
This a compilation video of the racing career thus far of one of my friends that races with NASA. Drew is a paraplegic and it doesn't slow him down one bit as he routinely wins races. He is one heck of a great guy and I have no doubt would be glad to give advice.

thanks. That's powerful
RJ Valentine's guys came up with a really neat set of hand controls for a CRG kart.
Call CRG America, 781-843-0100. From what I've seen the throttle offers better control than a pedal.
