Built by Hennessey? So that means it makes 1000hp once and then the rods fall out the block. Just like when people were pointing out these aftermarket conversions to make Camaros and Mustangs outrun Hellcats, the problem is that they are all done by a third party. They usually end up more expensive, void the factory warranty (sure, you get a Hennessey warranty but it's much shorter) and the work is done by third-parties who often have questionable quality (Hennessey cars have a reputation for being ticking time bombs) and if it does need work then you have to send it back to the shop that did it, instead of your local dealership.
That's cool! The name is brilliant. I wish Chevy would release something that blatant.

I am not all that impressed. Just about any tuner shop can build a 1,000 hp what ever you want. When GM or Ford answer the call that will be interesting. However who cares? Maybe they realize that a hootis swinging contest is dare I say stupid?
I've heard enough bad stuff about Hennessey that it's hard not to feel that the media exists as a tool to help him separate money from suckers.

As soon as I hear the word Hennessy, I pretty much start counting the days until we see the first one burn to the ground and the pictures circulate around the internet.

Revs kitchen racing may open a shop soon.. Although that doesn't sound as cool as Hennessey, might need to work on the name.

Idunno, I kinda like Rev's Kitchen Racing. Or make it like a Japanese tuning shop where it's just random car-related words tossed together, like Total Car Produce or Car Shop Glow or Powerhouse Amuse.

Yeah, I mean, didn't Shelby make that 1000hp Mustang a few years back already? Ya know, the one that people found didn't actually make 1000hp and didn't pull wheelies like it did in the promo material.
Among domestic automakers, Mopar is the only one dedicating this kind of time and money to make and sell genuine high-performance vehicles. The fact that you have to go third party for a Chevy or Ford is, to me, laughable. Dodge is reigniting the power wars of the late '60s, but GM and Ford are asleep at the wheel...

Yes, they did. They've sold a fair number too, at least for what it is. I actually just saw the original development "Shelby 1000" at their HQ in Vegas. In an out-of-character move, it's very low key looking. Dark blue, no stripes, no scoops, just a 1000 logo ahead of the rear wheels.

The ZL1 will tie the Hellcat in the quarter and its a road race car, Ford has an 8250 rpm "small block" (small displacement?) with 526 hp that is a killer naturally aspirated beast.
Ford is building an LMP car for the street that just won Lemans, the C7 Vette is a global competitor and ChryslerFCA just killed the Viper which was the only not-in-a-straight-line weapon they had.
I mean I get that Dodge is upping the ante in the drag wars with the Demon, but Dodge has always had a flare for the straights. Seems all of them are back to building some impressive equipment.

As for Hennessey, I thought his schtick was taking people's money and then never giving their cars back.

Hennessey is still building lots of stuff. The last time I was in the Cadillac dealer in Houston you could buy a brand new 700hp (and this was the 550hp V2 cars) CTS-V with a combination warranty. Cadillac would still cover everything not drivetrain, Hennessey would somehow warranty some of the spinny bits, and you could get it all financed.
If the field behind the shop wasn't made of bottomless goo we'd probably still be rallycrossing out there.

That said, the best they have is the 4c which is 237hp and ~2500lbs. (although I do have to admit, i was surprised it was only $58k when I just looked) That said, 237hp!?!?! I expected... more...
Wait, they also have the Giulia Quadrifoglio at 505hp, but its a bit porky at 3800lb and $72k msrp
