I know we discussed the good woven split loom recently but I can't find the thread. I need to re-loom several sections on several cars so now is a good time to learn to do it well.

Seth, I consider myself pretty picky and the Amazon generic stuff has pleased me quite well. I'm nutty about the stuff and use it everywhere I can.

I just went back through me Amazon orders. It appears I used "Techflex F6" brand from Amazon sellers.

Hey! We use the same stuff! Have you found a good way to keep the ends from fraying over time?

Maybe try melting it ? That's what I'd do to a plastic rope to keep it from raveling.

I have used tape and shrink tubing to varying levels of success.

Cut it with a hot knife. Seriously.

It is supposed to be cut with a hot knife to prevent fraying. You should be able to flame seal the ends to prevent it.

We use TechFlex F6 on the drop on harnesses we build at work. As others noted, it cuts with a hot knife. We've been quite impressed with it. I once accidentally had antifreeze spill on a Techflex F6 harness and catch fire; after things were put out, I couldn't find the damage.

I've always had good luck with F4 tape or heat shrink if possible. F4 works particularly well if you  have a loom split since it doesn't get all goopy when exposed to high heat and it self fuses.
